Why We Book Your Safaris Before We Confirm Your Room

The first thing most people notice when they land on our website is that they cannot simply 'book' a room.

There is no instant confirmation. No payment gateway at the first click. For a resort with only 16 rooms, this might seem odd in an age of one-click everything.

It is, however, the only way we can ensure you get the safari worth the travel and the experience.

Let's be direct: you aren't just coming to Tadoba for a hotel room. You are coming for the shared thrill of a tiger sighting. You are coming for the moment a predator call breaks the silence of the morning drive. You are coming for the forest.

But the forest doesn't care about hotel bookings. The Forest Department allocates safari permits per gate, per session, per day. When they are gone, they are gone. No resort can manufacture more.

If we took your money for a room before checking what the safari gates had to offer, we would be selling you a version of a trip that might not exist. We aren't willing to do that.

The non-committal start

Your journey with us starts on our Rooms and Suites page. You pick the space you like and make a reservation. It is entirely non-committal. We don't ask for a credit card. We don't ask for a deposit.

We ask for a conversation.

Once we have your enquiry, we reach out. Not for a sales pitch, but to understand what you are looking for. What matters most to you on this trip? Are you a serious photographer chasing a specific light, or a family looking for the sanctuary of a quiet safari? We want to understand your story before we talk about how we can make it happen.

We talk through the dates and check what is realistically doable at the gates. We answer the specific questions that a booking site never could. Only when we have agreed on a safari plan that actually works do we book the permits and confirm your room.

That is when the deposit happens. Not before.

No surprises on arrival

Our guests often tell us that the best part of arriving at Limban Resort is the lack of stress. By the time you check in, the hard work is long done. Your safari permits are confirmed. Your gates are mapped. Your itinerary is locked.

There is no scrambling the night before a drive. No discovering at 5 AM that the gate you wanted is a two hour drive away because someone didn't check the gate geometry.

This is also why you won't find us on the big booking sites. Those apps are designed to sell you a room and leave the safari as a problem you will need to sort out for yourself or with your hotel later. We see the stress and issues this creates for guests when it happens elsewhere. It is not an experience we are willing to replicate. We would rather lose a booking than have a guest arrive and be disappointed.

When plans change

We know that plans can change for reasons no one can anticipate. When they do, we want to reduce the friction to an absolute minimum for our guests.

Many resorts in this region rely on rigid, defensive policies. We took a different path. Our cancellation and reschedule terms are perhaps the most liberal anywhere in Tadoba.

If you cancel 14 days or more before arrival, you get a full refund. Even closer to the date, we would always prefer to reschedule your stay than see you lose out. We allow changes within a 12 month window because we know life happens.
