In Tadoba, where you sleep and where you safari are the same decision. Safari permits are issued per gate, per day — and different gates can be a two-hour drive apart. When a hotel takes your money before checking which permits are still available near them, it has sold you half a trip. The other half may already be gone.
Guests who booked rooms without confirming safaris first have arrived across Tadoba to find permits sold out for every gate near their hotel. Some make the trip anyway — driving two hours each way before a 6am safari, every day of their stay. Most did not know this was a possibility when they paid their deposit. It is a predictable outcome. At Limban, it is also one we will not book you into.
We decided, early on, that we would not accept a room deposit until your safari plan was sorted and confirmed. Not as a policy on paper — as the way every single booking at Limban works.

The Conversation Before a Commitment
Your enquiry costs nothing. You pick the room that fits, share your dates, and we get in touch — not to sell, but to understand what you are looking for and what the gates can actually offer on those dates. Only when we have a safari plan you are happy with do we confirm the room.
Safari permits must be paid in full before your trip — that is a Forest Department rule, not a Limban policy. We handle the payment on your behalf. Your room deposit is 50%, with the balance due before check-out.
If your dates do not work — if safaris are unavailable or the gate geometry does not line up — we tell you before any payment is made. You can adjust, you can rethink, or you can walk away. No penalty. No pressure.
Why you will not find us on booking sites
Online booking platforms are built for speed. They sell rooms, not safari plans. Whether the permits you need exist near the hotel you just booked is not a variable they track. We book directly because there is no other way to plan both halves of your trip as one thing. We would rather lose a booking than replicate the disappointments we have seen elsewhere.
